Announcing our new consulting practice.

We are pleased and excited to introduce our behavioral health consulting practice, specializing in services to colleges and universities. Rockland-Miller, Heitzmann & Associates Consulting provides consultation and training that is customized to the specific context and circumstances reflected in your institution. We will partner with key campus constituents to address the challenges of continuing improvement in complex organizations.

Dr. Rockland-Miller, Director Emeritus of the Center for Counseling and Psychological Health (CCPH) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, is a leader in the field of college mental health, and is a recipient of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for University and College Counseling Center Directors. After retiring from the University in 2017, Harry was joined by his colleague and friend Dr. Gregory Eells in starting a consulting practice.

Dr. Dennis Heitzmann has spent his entire career in service to university student mental health, in particular as Senior Director of Counseling and Psychological Services, and Special Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs at Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Heitzmann is a recipient of both the Lifetime Achievement Award and the President’s Award from the Association for University and College Counseling Center Directors, as well as the Distinguished Service Award from the International Association of Counseling Services, Inc. Dr. Heitzmann has provided on-site consultation to over 100 institutions in the United States and internationally.

Senior Associate consultant Dr. Cory Wallack is currently the Executive Director for Health and Wellness at Syracuse University, supervising the integrated offices of counseling, health, health promotion, and recreation. While at SU, Cory developed Campus Connect: A Suicide Prevention Training for Gatekeepers, which was recognized in 2007 as a National Best Practice by the Suicide Prevention Resource Center and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Senior Associate consultant Jim Terhune is the Vice President for Student Affairs at Swarthmore College where he has served as the chief student affairs officer since 2018. Prior to Swarthmore, Jim spent 10 years as Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at Colby College and 15 years in several leadership roles at Colgate University, including Dean of Student Affairs and Dean of First-Year Students.
